Police
in Namisindwa district are holding a 78-year-old man, Calid Khaukha on allegations
of aggravated defilement.
The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday night at a
funeral. Khaukha is alleged to have lured a girl, a minor with sweets before
defiling her in a nearby banana plantation.
Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson says
the victim told her parents after they realized she was moving with a lot of discomfort.
Taitika says the parents reported the matter to Police leading to Khaukha’s
arrest on Tuesday.
Khaukha is being held at Bumbo Police station and the
victim is receiving medical treatment at Bumbo Health Centre III.
