Butiru
County Member of Parliament Godfrey Wakooli Matembu has facilitated the land
acquisition process for Mayanza Sub County in Manafwa District.
Authorities at Mayanza Sub County
identified land worth 14 million shillings but managed to deposit 10 million
shillings leaving a balance of 4million shillings. The authorities plan to
construct headquarters for Mayanza Sub County in a bid to save them from costs
of rent.
On Saturday, MP Wakooli handed over the 4
million shillings to the Mayanza Sub County LCIII Chairperson John Nabeki to
complete the process of land acquisition. According to Wakooli, the support
aims at supplementing government effort in boosting service delivery for the
people of Mayanza Sub County. He said the support is in fulfillment of a pledge
made in 2021 towards land acquisition.

Chairperson welcomed MP Wakooli’s support urging other leaders to support the
construction of the Sub County headquarters. According to Nabeki, they need
close to 100million shillings for the construction of the Sub County
headquarters.

be ignored. Nandere says with the political season coming up, leaders who have
lived up to the voters’ expectations should be elected back to office.
