Police in Bugiri
are investigating circumstances under which a fire claimed the lives of two
people on Monday night.
The two victims are residents of Kayango village, Nsago parish,
Buluguyi Sub County.
Diana Nandaula, the Busoga East police spokesperson identifies
the deceased as Mildred Nekesa, a six-month baby and 19-year-old Mubulumba
Natabaga. Another person Wanjala Ayub who sustained injuries was rushed to
Bugiri Hospital for treatment.
Wanjala who stayed with the deceased was running a fuel
business. It is alleged that Wanjala got a late night fuel customer which
prompted him to light a candle. The candle however ignited the fuel leaving the
entire house in flames. The bodies of the deceased have been taken to Bugiri
Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.
