Police in Namisindwa are hunting for the killers of a 55-year-old woman who was murdered at her home.


Aidah Sitsangi, a resident of Nabwela Cell, Bumbo Town Council in Namisndwa district, was allegedly killed by unknown assailants last night.

According to Rodgers Taitika, the Elgon Region police spokesperson, residents heard an alarm from Sitsangi's home around 11:45 pm, prompting them to intervene. They found Sitsangi helpless and bleeding, with several deep cuts on her head and neck.

Aaron Sibakha, the Chairperson LC 3 Bumbo Town Council, said the suspects reportedly used machetes to inflict bodily injuries and later fled the home, leaving Sitsangi in a pool of blood. When residents came to her rescue, she was unconscious and died while being rushed to Bumbo Health Center III.
