A business man in Bukhaweka town council in Namisindwa District was last night shot by unidentified thugs.
The thugs also reportedly took off with eight million shillings belonging to the businessman identified as Martin Wakhabu.
Anthony Mwanyi the LCIII chairperson for Bukhaweka town council says Wakhabu was shot and injured while heading home after the day’s work. Mwanyi says Wakhabu is now being treated at Mbale Regional Referral Hospital.
Kenneth Womatabo a resident of Bukhaweka wants an operation carried out against idle youth who could be behind the spate of criminality in the area.
Fredrick Bangu the Namisindwa Resident District Commissioner says investigations into the increased insecurity are ongoing and the group tormenting the area will be apprehended.
