Office of the National Chairman Head under the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) Hajjati Hadija Namyalo Uzeiye has urged the people of Bulambuli to shun divisive politicians.

Namyalo sounded the call on Sunday while presiding over an empowerment outreach at Simu Primary School playground in Simu Sub County, Bulambuli District. The outreach aimed at giving out items like tomato, cabbage, maize seeds spray pumps, charcoal stoves and sewing machines among others. The items were worth more than 200 million shillings.

Without divulging names, Namyalo said that some political actors in Bulambuli had attempted to block the empowerment outreach claiming it was an opposition organized event. Namyalo said that with the election season underway, the people of Bulambuli should only vote leaders who are willing to empower them.

Sarah Wekomba a hopeful for the Bulambuli District Woman Parliamentary position and Ignatius Mudimi the Elgon County Member of Parliament alongside ONC financially supported the empowerment outreach. According to Wekomba, there was need to empower the people in a bid to fight household poverty.

Elgon County legislator Ignatius Mudimi says the empowerment outreach aimed at creating financial independence for the people of Bulambuli through engaging in income generating activities.

Gidongo Sam and Mubutu Fred from Bulago Sub County received onion seeds and spray pumps and are optimistic of economic empowerment following the outreach.
