A
50 year old man in Kanyenya village, Buwihula parish, Busaba Sub County in
Butaleja District is on the run for allegedly murdering his own son.
Moses Mugwe the Bukedi South Police
spokesman identifies the suspect as David Higenyi and the deceased as 15 year
old Gerald Hitundi, a pupil at Bugisa Primary School.
Tito Hadeye a resident reported the
matter to Police. Police says trouble started when Hitundi was sent home for
fees and other scholastic materials. He informed his father, David Higenyi
about the need to clear the fees.
According to Police, the deceased
refused to return to school unless his father cleared the school fees. This
angered the father, David Higenyi who resorted to assaulting his son forcing
him to go to school. The boy never went to school and was later found in an
unconscious state. Mugwe says that he was transferred to Mulagi Health Centre
where he died.
