Police in Budaka District are investigating a case of cattle theft involving four cows that are valued at 3.5 million shillings.


The incident occurred on Sunday at Nangeye 2 cell, Naboa Town Council, where suspect a Bumba Juma allegedly stole the cows belonging to Gimbo Salimati.

Fredrick Kyempasa the Bukedi North region police spokesperson says that the theft was discovered the following day, prompting a police investigation.

Kyempasa says a police sniffer dog led officers to the scene where the cows were slaughtered. Photographs of the remains were taken, and statements were obtained from witnesses. He adds that the suspect has been identified and investigations are ongoing.
