The level of absenteeism and late coming among civil servants at Bungati Sub County in Namisindwa District has reached alarming levels.
Jackson Wakweika the Namisindwa LCV Chairperson says that while on a monitoring exercise last week, they found the Bungati Sub County offices closed with no trace of any civil servant.
Wakweika says some residents told him that the Sub County offices have been closed for the last one week under unclear circumstances.
Imran Muluga the Namisindwa Resident District Commissioner (RDC) has asked the Chief Administrative Officer to take up the matter since it is negatively affecting service delivery.
Stephen Wakoli the LCIII for Bungati Sub County confirms the reports on absenteeism saying all the 12 civil servants attached to the Sub County have been away from work for quite some time.
John Patrick Nuweabigaba the Namisindwa chief administrative officer says he will convene a meeting for all civil servants at lower local government level to curb absenteeism.
