Northern City Division Speaker Robert Kisesi has opposed
a decision to close the Law Enforcement Offices at the Mbale City Council
Court.
A directive
issued by the Mbale City Clerk Ambrose Ochen on January 16, 2025 ordered for
the immediate closure and evacuation of the offices by January 20, 2025.
According to
Kisesi, the City council and Division Offices lack do not have proper security
provisions such as cells for detaining suspects and facilities for storing
property that has been confiscated.
He also accuses leaders
at Mbale City Council for plotting to grab the land on which the Enforcement
offices are located.
But James Kutosi
the Mbale City Public Relations Officer says he is not aware of the directive.
Kutosi however says that authorities at the Court called for the removal of
exhibits at the Court.
