in Namisindwa District have been affected by jiggers.

Bogere the Namisindwa District Health Educator says that the jigger infestation
in Namisindwa is real and they have come up with solutions towards the problem.
Bogere
says that for the last three years, they have recorded close to 2,000 people
with jiggers and treated them. She says that the District Health team in
partnership with Zero Jiggers, a non-government organization are working
towards treatment and eradication of the problem.
A
jigger treatment clinic was set up at Bubutu Health Centre III.
Bogere
has called for better hygienic practice by the residents as one of the ways of
fighting the jigger infestation in Namisindwa District.
