This call was made by Annet Wayero of St. Paul Buwandyambi Church
of Uganda in Bupoto archdeaconry.
Wayero presided over the
Mother’s Day celebrations at St. John Maala Church of Uganda. Mother’s Day is
celebrated every March 26 in memory of Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ.
According to Wayero,
many married women have abandoned the practice of preparing food for their
husbands. Wayero says this has made men marry other women seeking for better
care and love.
Irene Wabulakha the
Mothers’ union chairperson for Maala parish said the biggest role of married
women is to cook for their husbands.
