Lifestyle conduct is to blame for the increased cases of eye disease, this is according to medical experts.

This was disclosed by Ronald Khisa an eye specialist at an eye camp organized by St. Benedictine Eye Hospital, Tororo in partnership with Nandala Foundation (NF). The eye camp is being held at Budadiri Health Centre IV and Buwasa Health Center IV, both in Sironko District.

According to Khisa, the number of children being diagnosed with sight problem is increasing and this is as a result of spending long hours on computers, smart phones and television. Khisa has asked parents to restrict the time children spend using such electronic gadgets.

Sam Masolo the Public Relations Officer for the Nandala Foundation says they partnered with St. Benedictine Eye Hospital in organizing the eye camp as a way of giving back to the community. Masolo has urged the community to embrace the camp for free eye checkup and treatment.

Agnes Nadunga one of the people who turned up for the camp at Budadiri Health Centre IV expressed happiness with the camp urging other people to embrace it.
