Lack of electricity and access to clean water at Mbayo Health Centre III in Butandiga town council is impeding the delivery of services.
Jude Byeye the in-charge Mbayo Health Centre III says the facility lack clean water and electricity yet it serves people in the sub counties of Butandiga, Butandiga town council Masaba and Bukyabo.
Byeye said this on Wednesday as a team from Sironko District Local Government was inspecting ongoing construction works of three blocks at the health center. He says the health centre has one solar panel which can’t provide light to the entire facility. He also says that the only 10,000 litre tank at the health centre which is used to collect rain water cannot sustain the high number of patients.
Livingstone Giruli the Sironko LCV Chairperson says the District plans to extend piped water to the health centre and the entire community.
Isaiah Sasaga the Budadiri East Member of Parliament says the rural electrification project is ongoing in Sironko District and Butandinga town council will soon be covered.
