Residents of Wangutusi cell, Manafwa
town council in Manafwa District have protested the reported alleged sale of
the anesthesia machine at Bubulo Health Centre IV.
Residents like Sam
Wekoye and Stephen Wepukhulu; all residents of Wangutusi cell claim they were
tipped that the District leaders wanted to sell off the anesthesia machine,
something which is improper.
The residents say
that the machine has been helping expectant mothers and newly born babies with
breathing complications. The residents marched to the Manafa District offices
protesting the planned sale.
But Ephraim Nakhokho
the Manafwa district health officer has dismissed allegations of a planned sale
of the anesthesia machine. Nakhokho says Bubulo Health Centre has two
anesthesia machines and a request was made by health ministry to have one
machine extended to Namatala Health Centre IV in Industrial City Division in
Mbale City.
