A new weekly community market has been opened in
Wandekeya trading centre in Nalondo Sub County, Manafwa District.
Wandekeya
market will serve residents of Nalondo, Khabutoola, Butta and Nangalwe Sub
Counties. At the opening of the market yesterday, food, animals, utensils,
clothes and electronics among others were up for sale.
Vincent
Wabikomba the Chairperson Organising Committee of the market said the idea to
start a market arose out of the need to help farmers and the business community
to trade commodities in order to contribute to the growth and development of
the different areas.

Mutete, Aidah Nekesa, Moses Wabuke and Anthony Khisa welcomed the market saying
it will save them from the distant markets in a bid to access merchandise.
Commissioning the market, Manafwa LCV Chairperson Hosea Kimono lauded the residents for the initiative saying it will boost the local economy.
