Residents of Namabya and Bukhaweka Sub Counties in Namisindwa District have called for transparency as works on the 29km Kufu-Bukhaweka-Bupoto-Magale road start.

More than 160 people directly affected by the projects met over the weekend and demanded for a clear design and engagement with top leadership at the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA)

Zebtek Wepukhulu one of the victims says that there is need to clear spell out issues of compensation for the project affected people.

Marion Lunyolo one of the people affected by the project says that despite the immense benefits of the project, works should be done in a standard manner.

Agnes Katisi aged 73 and a resident of Tengei in Bukhaweka Sub County wants UNRA to explain her fate since it appears the road will pass close to her house.

William Kaggwa, a representative of UNRA and the contractor of the project says current works are only maintenance in nature. Kaggwa says full implementation of the project will get underway after compensation has been done.
