Bugisu Cooperative Union (BCU) has registered an increase in the quantity of Arabica coffee supplied by its farmers.

John Musila the BCU board vice-chairperson says farmers supplied more than 2million kilograms compared to previous seasons where they supplied 50,000 kilograms or less.

Musila who is also the Bubulo East Member of Parliament says all their stores are currently full and planning to create more space to accommodate the huge coffee volumes.

Isaiah Sasaga the director, Sironko valley Zone attributes the huge volumes to massive sensitization zonal meetings that the BCU board conducted last year. Sasaga, also the Budadiri East MP says that during the meetings, they encouraged farmers to entrust BCU with their coffee.
