Bugisu Cooperative Union (BCU), has started opening
boundaries and retitling its land as a way of fighting of encroachment.

Chairperson says that Police last year arrested ten people for forging land
tittles and grabbing 100 hectares of BCU land in Bunambutye Sub County in
Bulambuli District.
According to Musila,
last month’s annual general meeting resolved to open boundaries and re-title
all BCU land.
Isaiah Sasaga the
Director for Sironko valley zone says the boundary opening and retitling will
spread out to all areas with BCU land. Sasaga says that BCU owns huge chunks of
land and most of it has been encroached on.
