Mbale City Council has lost 200 million shillings to contractors served with a responsibility of collecting local revenue from three sources in the last three months.
James Kutosi the Mbale City Communications Officer identifies the contractors as Midlink, in charge of collecting money for street parking, Mbale Truck Drivers Sacco (Loading and Offloading) and Odo Waiswa (Advertising & Marketing).
Kutosi says that the three companies have not remitted funds totaling to two hundred million shillings for the months of October, November and December. As a result, he says they have suspended the operations of the three contractors and none should collect money on behalf of Mbale City Council.
