Dr Patrice
Motsepe, President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), is set to
visit Uganda as part of his tour of East Africa in preparation for the
TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024, scheduled for early
next year.
According to a statement from CAF, Dr Motsepe's
visit started on Thursday in Tanzania. He will travel to Kenya on Friday
morning before concluding his tour in Uganda in the evening.
During his visit, Dr Motsepe will meet with
government officials, football leaders, and representatives from the Local
Organizing Committees of the three host nations.
His itinerary includes visits to stadiums and
training facilities that are currently undergoing renovations in anticipation
of next year's tournament.
Dr Motsepe’s visit follows a second round of
inspections carried out by a CAF delegation in November. The inspection
assessed various stadiums, training sites, hotels, airports, and other
infrastructure in the three host countries.
