The FUFA disciplinary panel has issued a summons to Onduparaka FC following their failure to honour a scheduled fixture in the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 64.
A letter from the panel stated that Onduparaka, who was scheduled to visit Kyambura Rasters on January 31, 2024, did not appear at the match venue, resulting in the cancellation of the fixture.
The team had earlier requested a postponement of the fixture due to logistical challenges, a plea which was rejected by FUFA. The team has now been asked to provide a written statement to the FUFA disciplinary panel by Thursday, February 8, 2024, to explain, contest, or justify the action.
The FUFA competition rules of 2023 state that the Uganda Cup is mandatory for clubs in the 1st and 2nd divisions during the round of 64, and for 3rd division clubs in subsequent rounds.
Reports suggest that Onduparaka has not conducted training sessions for nearly a month following their last Big League match against Police in December. Unpaid wages led discontented players to leave the camp and cease training.
