State Minister for Finance in-charge
Microfinance Haruna Kyeyune Kasolo says defaulters of government’s Emyooga
programme risk being exposed in the media as one of the measures to recover the
money.
Kasolo made the
pronouncement on Wednesday at Kameti Primary School playground in Kameti Sub
County, Bukwo District on his countrywide monitoring and evaluation tours of
the Emyooga programme. The programme launched in August 2019 was aimed at
wealth and job creation. Kasolo says exposing the defaulters in the media aims
at compelling them to pay back the money which is a revolving fund.
Rita Namuwenge, the National
Coordinator of Emyooga, warned the defaulters to pay the money by the end of
this financial year to avoid inconveniences.
