A hopeful for the Namisindwa District Woman Parliamentary position, Peace Khalayi Simiyu has donated scholastic materials and food to candidates ahead of the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).

According to a timetable by the Uganda National Examinations Board(UNEB), briefing of candidates was held on Monday.

On Wednesday this week, the candidates will write Mathematics and Social studies. They will then write Integrated Science and English on Thursday.

It is against this background that Khalayi decided to provide scholastic materials like pens to the candidates. She also handed out success cards, sanitary pads and rice. Khalayi says majority of the children in rural areas need to be supported with pens as they prepare to write their final examinations. Khalayi said lack of sanitary pads affects the ability of the girls to concentrate during examination time. She said it was the reason, sanitary pads were part of the donation.

Moses Waburuko the director Busulwa Christian School in Tsekululu Sub County welcomed the support saying it will have a positive impact on academic performance in the Primary Leaving Examinations.
