Two men in Buliisa district are on the run for alleged rape.
The suspects have only been identified as
Michael and Mbabazi, both residents of Biiso town council in Buliisa district.
They are accused of gang-raping a 19-year-old
woman from Masindi district. It is alleged that the victim moved from
Masindi district to Biiso on Friday last week while searching for a job.
The suspects lured her claiming that they
were going to connect her to someone with a job.
When the victim arrived in Biiso, the suspects
reportedly turned against her and gang-raped her. The victim, whose
identity has been withheld reported a case of rape at Biiso police
station.
Teogras Muhingo, the officer in charge of criminal investigations-OC CID
at Biiso police station said that the suspects have since vanished from
the village and the hunt is on for them.
