Residents of Busamo upper village in Namisindwa parish, Bupoto Sub County in Namisindwa District are in shock after one of their residents was gunned down by unknown assailants.
Brian Musawule aged 19, was reportedly gunned down as he picked a local Bamasaba delicacy known as Malewa from the Kenyan side of the Mt. Elgon Nattional Park.
Masawule who was in the company of his colleague who fled after hearing gun shots was reportedly killed on Friday last week. The assailants suspected to be Kenyans were reportedly in civilian clothes, armed and their faces covered. According to Police in Namisindwa, more than 100 people have been killed in the last three years in a similar manner.
