The acting police Chief Political Commissar Hadijah Namutebi, has cautioned police officers and civilians against killing and injuring one another over unmet Christmas expectations.

Namutebi who was meeting community liaison officers and civilians in markets, taxi parks and boda boda riders in Kampala said every Christmas they register a high number of domestic related deaths and injuries because couples and other family members fight over unfulfilled Christmas expectations.

She has reminded the public that everyone has entered the festive season when prices of every essential commodity have almost doubled thus a few things will be managed by family heads while others are likely not to meet any of their usual Christmas requirements. Prices of foodstuffs like rice, maize flour, and cooking oil have been high for the better part of this year.

Namutebi urges the public to make their homes peaceful throughout the festive season. This, she said can be achieved by appreciating and being contented with the little that is available.
