The Eastern Uganda Trade Fair will improve relations between manufacturers and consumers.
This was disclosed at a press briefing by the Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) who have organized a weeklong trade fair at Mbale Secondary School grounds. The 12th Eastern Uganda Trade Fair is being held under the theme: ‘Celebrating Local Manufacturing Excellence.’
Dr. Ezra Muhumuza Rubanda the UMA Executive Director says that the trade fair will provide the much needed feedback on the goods manufactured for the consumers. Rubanda says that the trade fair will also open up opportunities for those interested in becoming agents for the different manufacturers.
Mary Mukasa the Trade Finance Manager of Kenya Commercial Bank(KCB), one of the sponsors for this years’ trade fair says the partnership is a continuation of their support towards financing the various members under UMA. Mukasa says they also support the value chain right from the suppliers to the manufacturers.
Laurent Zhang the Administration Manager of the Sino Mbale Industrial Park who are also sponsoring the fair says they had join UMA to bolster the government’s plan of promoting industrialization by showcasing locally manufactured products ranging from electronics and detergents.
