The Uganda
Revenue Authority (URA) has embarked on a nationwide sensitization of the
business community about the Electronic Fiscal Receipting and Invoicing
Solutions (EFRIS).
Speaking at one of the trainings at Hilltop Hotel
in Mbale City, Michael Masembe the Acting General Manager Tax Education
Outreach at URA, says they are training the business community on how to use
the online invoicing system.
Masembe says it is important that the business
community gets acquainted with EFRIS in order to ease the payment of value
added tax. Masembe also urged Ugandans to pay taxes promptly to avoid
penalties.
Racheal Kirungi from URA’s Efris Unit said the
training aims at creating awareness especially for VAT registered business
people so as to help in the development of the country.
Hakim Massa one of the members of the business
community in Mbale City welcomed the training on Efris calling for more
